"I was first called by Lucy at Vanity Management about 2 days before the MTV shoot. She asked me if I was interested and then put me in contact with Gareth who gave me all the details of where and when! I was about 40 mins early for the shoot but the team was friendly and asked me to wait in a room while they finished shooting the smashing glass shot (the shoot involved me and another model throwing a third through a window)! During this time me and the other two models got to know each other, which made things a lot easier when it came to the actual shoot. The photographer initially took individual shots of each of us before getting us together for the action shots. Another model and myself had to pick up the third and throw him about as if through a pane of glass - this went on for about an hour and a half. By the end we were all exausted (the model wasn't light) and in pain but as we had spent time getting to know each other before the shoot we actually had a very good time - both the photographers and ourselves were laughing and joking while getting a lot of very good shots. The photographer commented on how good we had been to work with and how easy we took direction. After the shoot the three of us had a quick drink together and swapped numbers. We had hoped to have had the finished shots back by now but that hasn't happened however vanity management have been excellent, giving follow-up calls to see how the shoot went and to offer advice on how to get more work. thanks guys"!

I got a telephone call at about 5.30pm on Wednesday evening from a lovely lady called Leslie who asked if I was interested in being a "background artist" in a film called Desert Flower, obviously I accepted straight away without even asking what I had to do. I had just finished a degree in Drama & Creative Writing and had been taught to bite the hand off anyone who offered me acting work. I was told I was to be a Burger Bar customer, very ironic as I'm a veggie and try my best to stay away from fast food joints, but obviously I’m a professional! I had to be at a car park in Notting Hill at 8am sharp, the next day. I would be working for around eight hours for £90 which sounded brilliant, as lunch and refreshments would be provided. I was told to bring two changes of costume one spring (that i was already wearing) summer and winter. And I was told specifically not to wear red or pink. Naturally I did some research into the film, and found out it was about a Somali model and her struggles. Very cool! I had to fill in a few forms and sat on a double decker bus with other actors. There was about twenty of us ranging from about the ages of fourteen to seventy. Everyone was very nice and there was a lot of friendly banter. Other actors discussing what programme’s they had already been on and learning their scripts. It was very surreal! We were told to go outside the bus so the costume designer could check out our outfits. We stood in a line, much like a prison line up as she checked us. Of course my costume was perfect and I got the thumbs up! I headed back to the transport bus, which took us to the location. It was an old burger king, we sat upstairs in a room, and a producer took some of us down stairs to start filming. All in all I was in three scenes, one in a small group were we had to cover up some posters of other films and pretend to discuss something while the lead actress, came up to us and asked us something. I was told by one of the producers not to react to her too much, when she did. We did that take about ten times. I got chatting to other extras and told them this was my first time doing this. One of them said it was a good job to get into and they there was a shortage of black female extras and I’d probably get a lot more work. SCORE!!!! When we had wrapped that scene i was told to change outfit and i was called down to the "burger bar" i sat with another extra called Jason (not 100% sure that was his name), and we had to pretend to eat chips and interact with a waitress. It helped that he was absolutely gorgeous, so I had no problem acting with him. The day was just getting better and better. I went back upstairs and wasn’t called down for a few hours, so I read my book, talked to other people, drank tea and even had time for a nap. I couldn’t believe I was getting paid to do this! At around half one-ish we wrapped for lunch and were taken back to the car park. The food was unbelievable no nasty burgers or greasy chips, it was real gourmet stuff. Fantastic! Lunch lasted about forty five minutes, then we transported back to the set. I wasn’t needed for the next few scenes. There were a lot of larger than life characters so there was a lot of singing, dancing and joke telling. I loved hearing about the celebrities that other people had met and what they were really like, in the flesh. I heard some seriously juicy stuff that I obviously cannot repeat! At around five I was called downstairs with another girl to be in a scene, which involved me walking to a table and pretending to eat food. For authenticity I thought it would look better if I took a bite, I did. Big mistake the burger bun was stale and I started to cough. Always the professional, I held it in until the director yelled cut! As soon as he did I couldn’t stop coughing. Lol there’s a reason why they’re called props! Thank god the scene was over, and I swiftly made my way upstairs to get a cup of tea. At around seven one of the producers came up and told us that the filming was running late and the we would be finishing soon, I didn’t even notice the time as I was having so much fun. We were provided with sandwiches and cakes. I was seriously going to start to put on weight! Around half an hour later we all called downstairs to do a wild track which is basically to make noise so that they can use it later for the film. So I just continued on a conversation that I was having with someone earlier. The producer shouted it was a wrap so we were taken back to the car park to be signed off. It was around 8pm and I was bushed. Little did I know that you get paid extra for costume change and also for overtime so all in all I made a hundred and forty four pounds and seventy six pence. Result!! It was one of the funniest days I had, and I was really sad to say goodbye to my new found friends. Would I do it again? Definitely I’d be silly not too! Thanks again Lucy it wouldn't have been possible without you!!!!!

I was selected to feature in a the new Doritos advert that is due to air accross the UK in June. The producer phoned me and told me I had the right look and came across well on camera and wanted me to be in the film. The producer was very professional, assertive and really helpful in explaining what he wanted me to do and how I needed to prepare. The communication between Rose (agent) and Anish (producer) was up to speed and allowed us to get it all sorted in a couple of hours. On the shoot the crew were all very supportive and very friendly which allowed us to get set up and running straight away. After 5 hours of fimling we had all the footage we needed and I am so excited to see the final edit. I had a really good day, great experience in front of the camera and crew. Not to mention the fantastic contacts I met.

Since i have been with Vanity Management, I have had lots of job opportunities. My very first was doing extra work and a voice over for a film entitled losing her. We shot at the tate britain for a period of 4-5 days, where we got to see what a professional film set looked like. It was all rather exciting. The film was very succesful and aired at cannes film festival in france. We spoke with the director and even had an invitation to the opening of the film. We also spent one day at a studio in soho doing the voice over for the soundtrack of the film. Seeing and hearing it all was the best part, no actually I lied, seeing my name in the credits was. I was also involved in a music video for a band called Mr Hudson and the Library. I went for a series of auditions, where they had us dancing like mentalists, lying on the floor as though we were drunk, etc... and after the last one they wanted me back as a featured extra. I am in the first and last shot of the video as well as still clips and dancing in the background. The shooting was at the Mother Bar. We spent most of the day shooting. It was amazing fun, we got speaking to other extra's, the band and even Dizzee Rascal made an appearance for the shoot. we were e-mailed the final copy of the video and I didnt think anything of it until i got a call from my friend saying she watched the video on MTV. So next time look out for the girl in the white t-shirt, lol!!!! In addition I have done promoting work through Vanity Management and now work alongside some of the best night club promoters in London and have been given the opportunity to work on the door at some of the best and most exclusive clubs in london, from kensington roof top gardens, carbon, aura, red rooms, volstead and no.5 cavensish square. Through doing this i have made an amazing network of contact from people in the PA industry to owners of these clubs.

I worked at Jason Tozer, 12 Mallow Street, London EC1, from 9.30am to around 1pm. The stylist was put makeup that was like Geisha for over 1 hour. And shoot a lot of takes. These were close-up of my expressive face, eyes and lip, I was given materials(emotions, line"Sci-fi movies" and talking in Japanese) and acted in front of camera using them. The shooting was for 1 hour. I was paid well for the short time. I really enjoyed the job.

I took part for one(Monday) of three days. It was in the pub in central London, I was doing extras just sitting with another and pretending to talk, making the pub look busy. What I like-definitely new experiences for me, meeting with new people make opportunity to see how looks like making film.

I have had 2 jobs with Vanity since the 4 months I have been with them. The first one I had was a Video shoot for the upcoming artist Orlanda it was very interesting and it was a paid role. Food and Drink was provivded as well as copies of the video. It was one of the best experieinces I had working for vanity london. The role was a model and dancer for the video I was also give a role as one of the main dancers for the video. I have also been offered a job as a tv presenter with Telecoms tv for the show Cash Call. This position is to start at the begining of January.

Well I saw the job advertised and was obviously interested so I thought, what do I have to loose? Next thing I know I'm being asked to come to London a few days later for the shoot. I got there and some of the other girls were sitting in the dressing room, we all waited for a bit then got changed. It was a covered courtyard that had been converted into an underground nightclub. The theme of Orlanda's video was an all-girl's nightclub, so we all basically just had to dance around with her in the middle. Then we did some shots in smaller groups and some on our own. All in all, it was really fun, we got loads of food and drink throughout the day and I made £20. It's also more experience to add to the list. I've also kept in touch with the head of production, who asked me to email him a portfolio in case of future work!

The Client was a music artist called 'Orlanda' and the Production company in charge of the day and music video were Focus media communications. The job took place in the covered courtyard of the Keith Talent Gallery in Hackney on Saturday the 16th of September. I was one of 18 girls that were employed to appear in the music video. The music style was described as similar to Shakira and the concept behind the video was a girls' club night out. We did our own make up, provided several outfits each and created a fun, energized, happy, sexy club scene surrounding the artist as she sang on a podium in the middle. We were shot dancing individually, in smaller groups and as a big group; close ups and general group shots. The video shoot lasted the majority of the day. (10am-5pm). We signed model release forms and should receive a copy of the finished video, along with any stills that would be of use to us when they are ready. The video was a fairly low budget 'promo' video, due to be promoted i believe mainly in other european countries, with the possibility of airing in the UK if it is picked up.

I attended the strip poker world record event on Saturday the 19th August and had a brilliant time. I met some fantastic people and getting paid £150 to see hundreds of people strip was definitely an experience! I also learnt how to play poker!! I didnt think I was very good at playing but ended up having more chips than anyone else on my table....but had never played before!!! I look forward to getting fun jobs like this in the future.

I recently did a photo shoot with Juan Photography. The photographer needed shots to build up his portfolio and so I wasn't paid but I was given copies of the photos, which I was really pleased with. We shot on location and he arranged for a make-up artist to work with us. It was a long day and we shot three different looks in total, all of which looked great. I had so much fun and it gave me some valuable modelling experience. I look forward to doing similar work in the future.

Virgin Mobile approached us and requested a girl and a guy to go out on the streets of London to ask people what they really thought of them.. The girl Vicky Adams and guy Louis Terblanche ranked themselves out of 10 and went out with a camera crew to see if others agreed. For every one they got right they received £10! "this was a great day out, they had lots of fun..." Glad to hear Louis and Vicky had just a fabulous time!!

I did a catwalk show for 'ment2excel', this was a dramatic catwalk presentation and involved around 15 models and 30 dancers, this was a long day but seeing the final show come together was very satisfying as it looked amazing. The day was great, the designers were talented and enthusiastic and the choreographer was superb. I made some great friends that day and built up some new contacts, a great experience. I also did a shoot for an italian up and coming designer which was shot on a rooftop, again the team were great and enabled me to get some fantastic photo's for my portfolio. So far the people and experiences i have had have been great, i look forward to more of the same.

I recently modelled for award winner hairdresser and photographer David Barron who is going to present his work at the British Hairdressing Awards competition 2006. I had such a lovely experience with photographers, stylists, make-up artists, hairdressers and models, that I look forward to getting more inspiring jobs like this.

First of all thank you for putting me forward for that job, I needed the money...Yourself and everyone who I have dealt with at Vanity London have been so kind. I was asked to be an extra for a segway, for a tv pilot for channel 4. The shot involved a shower scene, changing scene, and also juping into a pool for the final shot. The shoot was at a lido in Heamstead Heath. Near Kentish Town tube station. the shoot was 3 hours, to complete all 3 shots. The company was Channel 4, and their production team. does it lead to other things(more work etc)- I do have contact details, and they do for myself as well. I hope this will lead to more. would you do it again- I would absolutly do it agian. Everyone was extreamly nice, and also very professional concidering I had to be nude. Both the people who were organizing the shoot, and also the other models were all great. I did have a lot of laughs...

I was recently hired by H&M business development to try on clothes for future seasons. They were looking for a size 38 model so I had to get measured on my first visit. When successful they have asked me to come in an hour every day for the next coming months. It is very exciting as I will be able to see what the next season’s fashion will be, try on cool clothes and at the same get paid £15-20 per hour. I have also met some amazing people who share my interest in fashion so I am looking forward to continue working with H&M.
